“Big Bang Theory” actress to divorce husband

Actress Mayim Bialik, known for her role on the TV show “The Big Bang Theory,” has recently finalized her divorce from her husband of 10 years, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who had married in a traditional Jewish ceremony, are preparing to co-parent their two sons in different households after the divorce. Bialik has received a great deal of publicity for her views on parenting, and has a degree in neuroscience.

Child custody is often an issue in divorces, as courts will make decisions regarding child placement according to the child’s best interests. This is not always easy to determine. This is particularly relevant because celebrities may have greater monetary and property assets to distribute. Courts will typically distribute marital property along the lines of equity and fairness between the spouses, but that is also not always clear, due to the fact that some property may be owned jointly by the divorcing spouses. This is another issue where spouses should draw up a plan to distribute the marital assets fairly.

Divorce can be a tough and painful issue for all involved, particularly if there are children in the family. Fortunately, the parties have the ability to set up a fair system to divide the marital property between them and to set up a system of custody and visitation so that both parents may see the children. Divorce need not be as painful as it is for many due to the availability of legal tools to help both parties.
